
Tourism Faculty Development Programme - Middle East

The UN Tourism Academy is looking for EXPERTS for the development and delivery of a series of training modules for Tourism Faculty representatives. These modules will constitute the basis of the continuation of the UN Tourism: Tourism Faculty Development Programme (TFDP) described below.
These modules will be delivered in an online format on various dates in September 2025 (delivery dates to be confirmed once the experts are selected).
ABOUT UN Tourism TFDP Programme Concept
The Tourism Faculty Development Programme (TFDP) aims to enhance the effectiveness of tourism educators and trainers in teaching, training, and administration. It will provide knowledge of curriculum and pedagogical development, as well as practical guidelines for managing tourism academic programmes, and improve teaching skills through state-of-the-art methodologies and best practices. The Programme consists of 3 phases: Training, Certification, and continuous support activities.
UN Tourism TFDP Programme Components
The initial programme consisted of twelve modules, delivered in an online format, each lasting three hours and comprising lectures, discussion sessions, and assignments.
This continuation of the programme will be delivered over a period of 1 month (September 2025). For each Module, optional reading material will be provided for participants who want to dive deeper into the content.

Experts are expected to have the following competences:
- Have proven experience on the topic of the initiative;
- have broad international, and private and public experience;
- be able to work and speak fluently in English;
- have very good experience on teaching and training;
- have abilities and skills to share knowledge in an interactive and practical manner;
- preferably, know the tourism reality of the region;
- preferably, have a good knowledge of UN Tourism's work and programmes;
- have proven experience in using Zoom platform and in online education.
Experts are also expected to provide the following services, with the support and under the supervision of the UNWTO Academy:
- develop the content (PPT for the online seminar and handout for the participants) and extra reading materials for the training programme(s) assigned,;
- develop an online, multiple choice exam with 20 questions maximum
- deliver the training programme(s) assigned (3 hour on-line session); and
- write and submit the final report(s) with recommendations.
Fees for this collaboration:
- The UN Tourism Academy will remunerate a lump sum of 7.000 € for the services detailed above for each module
